ASBrS Oncoplastic CME Opportunities

The Society offers several options for earning the required Continuing Medical Education (CME) for Oncoplastic Certification (Level 1).

The American Society of Breast Surgeons is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CME Requirements

A minimum of 20 AMA PRA Category 1 CME Credits™ in oncoplastic surgery is required for certification.

Documentation of each activity requires a copy of the certificate or CME attestation provided to participants. Please upload the requested information for each activity below.

Of these credits, the applicant must document successful completion of at least 2 Oncoplastic Surgery courses. Each course must include a didactic portion (in person or virtual) as well as an in person “hands-on” portion demonstrating oncoplastic surgical procedures.

  • One of these courses must be an ASBrS Oncoplastics course.
  • If the other course is not an ASBrS course then approval of the course by the ASBrS Oncoplastics Certification task force is required (require submission of agenda).
  • This requirement can be met by attending two ASBrS Beginner Oncoplastics courses or one beginner and one intermediate ASBrS Oncoplastics course.
  • The applicant may claim credit for courses in which he or she has participated as a faculty member.

Inquiries regarding the applicability of CME activities sponsored by other accredited educational organizations may be directed to certification@breastsurgeons.org.
