BESAP for Fellows
Welcome to the American Society of Breast Surgeons Breast Education Self-Assessment Program (BESAP) for Fellows program. This web-based CME learning tool for physicians is intended to help participating physicians ensure a mastery of critical content for the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease.
Fellows will complete a one-time, 64-question pretest that covers all BESAP III categories:

- Basic Breast Imaging
- Advanced Breast Imaging
- Pathology
- Benign Disease
- Surgery 1
- Surgery 2
- Oncoplastic Breast Surgery
- Medical Oncology
- Radiation Oncology

Program Access
BESAP for Fellows is limited to fellows in SSO-approved Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship Programs. For more information, contact besap@breastsurgeons.org.
Pretest: Available August 2022
Pretest access begins August 15, 2022. After completing all 64 questions, fellows will: receive an immediate score, be able to see which items you answered correctly and incorrectly and review the corresponding critiques and references. You have until September 19, 2022, to complete the pretest.
Learning Mode
Once you receive your pretest score, you will have access to the full BESAP III program in "Learning Mode," where you will be able to review all BESAP III items as well as read the corresponding critiques and references.
Posttest: Available July 2023
Your performance will be reassessed by completing a one-time posttest in July 2023. Specific dates and details will be sent closer to the posttest date. All questions are the same for the pre- and posttest. 75% or higher is considered passing. CME is not available for the BESAP for Fellows program. You may contact the Society if you are interested in purchasing the full BESAP III program for CME credit.
